About the Role
The Server reports to the Support Services Manager and/or designate and performs all aspects of service in the dining room, resident lounges, and room service for residents, guests, and the public. The Server provides quality customer service to all persons served as it relates to the culinary experience at our communities.
Responsibilities:
Include but not limited to:

Prepare dining room for all services, including setting tables, stocking necessary items, and assisting in the preparation, presentation, and serving of food and beverages.

Carry out general cleaning duties in the dining room, such as clearing and bussing tables, scraping, and at times washing dishes, while following the company’s Infection Protection and Control guidelines.

Establish and maintain an atmosphere conducive to pleasant dining by creating an environment that maintains the happiness, self-respect, general dignity, and physical safety of each resident.

Promote and maintain positive communication and relationships among staff, residents, and the public.

Responsible for some or all tasks related to housekeeping and laundry duties as required.

Attend and participate in community and education programs.

Respond to resident and building emergencies.

Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
-
Grade 10 or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

1-2 years’ experience in a dining room environment is an asset.

Food Safe Level 1 Certificate.
-
Serving It Right Certificate, as applicable.
-
WHMIS Certificate.
-
Demonstrated collaborative and team-working skills.

All successful applicants must pass the vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check applicable to Provincial guidelines.

Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions.

Ability to operate related food service equipment.
-
Must be in good health, physically able to operate food service equipment and perform tasks related to the position. Also, must be free from communicable diseases and allergies or conditions that may be aggravated by working with cleaners, detergents, and equipment.
