Family Update – August 14th, 2020
Dear Friends and Family Members,
We want to express our gratitude once again for your kindness and support over the last five months. This has been a challenging time for many British Colombians, but your contributions to our effort to keep Terraces safe and healthy are greatly appreciated. Please continue to keep yourselves and your families as healthy as possible, and we encourage you to check-in with your loved ones regularly to ensure that they are protecting themselves as well.
This week we want to remind you again of the importance of proper hand hygiene, because it is a critical part of breaking the chain of infection. We are five months into this pandemic, but we find that it is always useful to remind one another of how important the basics are. We ask that you also take the opportunity to remind your loved ones about the importance of hand hygiene and physical distancing the next time you speak with them, if you have not done so recently.
Our social visitation program continues to be a success, and we would like to remind you that designated visitors can book their visit by phoning the Front Desk at 604-738-8386. The dining room service has also gone quite well over the last several weeks. Our most recent change was to reintroduce glassware and the rest of our dishware in place of the disposable containers that were being used for some items. The feedback on this change has been wonderful, and we are delighted that the dining experience has moved closer to the pre-COVID ‘normal’.
Our recreation programming has been going strong since late May, and we will be making some programming adjustments as the summer comes to an end. The virtual programming has also been operating since April, though now it is offered 3-4 times per week instead of 5. Our in-person programs continue to be restricted to 5 participants at a time, and physical distancing must still be maintained throughout. All residents who are not on a 14-day isolation are welcome to sign up for any of our programs, so please encourage your loved ones to get involved if they are not already! The 5th floor patio is still looking fantastic with the flowers in full bloom, so now is a great time for your loved one to join us for one of our Patio Relaxation programs.
As a reminder, the policy on 14-day isolation for residents returning from an overnight leave has not changed. Keep this in mind as you plan out the remainder of your summer. Thank you again for all of your support and cooperation, and we hope you have a restful weekend.
Thank you,
Terraces on 7th Management Team
